The figure above is a variation of a horizontal stacked bar chart. It was used to illustrate an unmet medical need for management of obesity. A sequential percentage of weight loss and the associated treatment were presented, where a treatment gap was highlighted. This sequential bar chart works well to represent the medical need that has not been addressed. However, it shares the same attribute as a stacked bar chart where the beginning and end of a category (or associated treatment here) may be unclear.
